The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) plans to change the methods of calculating the income of Russians. To do this, the agency posted on the public procurement portal a contract to carry out a study on the topic "Development of recommendations for improving the sources and methods for the formation of macroeconomic indicators of income, expenses and savings of the population (stage 2022)".
The authors of the study should develop recommendations for improving methods for calculating the income, expenses and savings of Russians. Rosstat offers the following areas for study:
- accounting for expenses made through non-cash transfers;
- accounting for expenses incurred through incentives from bonus programs of trade and service enterprises;
- accounting of operations on the movement of funds of the population in the financial market;
- accounting for inventories and changes in the value of financial assets and liabilities.
According to RBC, Rosstat explained that the need for additional accounting for bonus systems will be assessed in the research work. The authors of the study of the methodology for calculating income from investments, in turn, will have to develop a system for assessing "paper" profits / losses that arise when the value of the investment portfolio changes. The cost of the contract for the study is 6.7 million rubles. The deadline for completion is December 2022.
