The appeal in the case of Alexei Gorinov, sentenced to 7 years for military “fakes”, will be held behind closed doors

The appeal in the case of the municipal deputy of the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow, Alexei Gorinov, who was sentenced to seven years in prison under the article on "fakes", will be held behind closed doors. This was reported in the Telegram channel "Freedom to Alexei Gorinov!", which was created in his support.

“The subscribers of our channel received a response from the court that the court session on September 19 will be held in a closed format,” the message says. The authors of the Telegram channel emphasize that there are no legal grounds in the case for the meeting to be closed.

“There is no state secret in our case, there are no minors in our case, our case is definitely not about sexual integrity. Only on these grounds can the meeting be closed – for no other reason, ”the message says.

On July 8, Gorinov was sentenced to seven years in a penal colony under the article on the dissemination of "fake news" about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason was that at a meeting of the council of deputies, he called for stopping the war in Ukraine and withdrawing Russian troops from there. Gorinov was the first to receive a real term under this article. He did not admit guilt.
