Yulia Tsvetkova faces a new criminal case. On the artist wrote 200 denunciations about the distribution of pornography

Against the artist Yulia Tsvetkova, who was tried for three years because of body-positive drawings of her vulvae, a new criminal case may be opened. About 200 denunciations about the distribution of pornography were written against her, the artist’s support group on Telegram reported :

“They are trying to start a new criminal case against Yulia. About distribution of pornography. Yes, again. After Yulia was acquitted in the first criminal case on July 15, homophobic activists wrote about 200 (!) applications to various authorities demanding that a new case be opened against Yulia.”

The Investigative Committee took up the verification of these denunciations, after which the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ PDN (a division for juvenile affairs) also joined.

“It was with the help of this department that the first Yulina case was unfolded, and his boss was a witness for the prosecution in court. In 2019, she also found pornography in the “Woman is not a doll” project. Now she personally calls the applicants for questioning in order to use their information “as evidence”, ”the artist’s support group said.

On July 15, the Central District Court of Komsomolsk-on-Amur acquitted Tsvetkova on exonerating grounds. The prosecutor's office, which requested 3 years and 2 months for her in a penal colony, appealed the verdict. The case itself under the article “Illegal production and circulation of pornographic materials using the Internet” was brought against the artist back in November 2019 – after the statement of the well-known author of denunciations, “geefighter” Timur Bulatov.

The basis was the drawings of women and vulvas – Tsvetkova published them in the public VK "Vagina Monologues". The images were sent for verification to the center, according to whose examinations the historian Yuri Dmitriev was convicted and Memorial was liquidated.

While the investigation lasted, Tsvetkova was in a pre-trial detention center, under house arrest, and then under house arrest. On June 3, she was recognized by the media as a “foreign agent”.
