A dam was damaged due to a Russian missile attack on Krivoy Rog. The Ingulets River overflows its banks, people can be left without water

Russia fired 8 cruise missiles at Krivoy Rog in the Dnepropetrovsk region of Ukraine, as a result of the impact, a dam was damaged, the Ingulets River rose and flooded coastal areas. Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, writes about the strikes on his Telegram channel.

“Today, Russian troops sent the maximum number of their weapons to hydraulic structures. The goal is obvious – an attempt to create an emergency. It doesn’t matter to them whether people will be left without water or the city will be in the water.”

He called the actions of the Russian army "a terrorist act against the Ukrainian people and the city." A video is published on social networks, which shows that the water level in the Ingulets River has risen and continues to grow.

Sources of The Insider claim that, according to preliminary information, the attack was carried out by Kh-101 missiles. The target of the strike could be the largest in the region Krivoy Rog thermal power plant.

If the dam fails, the city may flood. Now local residents are buying water in supermarkets, the shelves with drinking water in some stores are almost empty. KP war correspondent Alexander Kots posted a video on his Telegram channel with the caption: “Do we pi…ts or not?”

Local publics also write that the water level in the river is rising and publish a video.

The Karachunovskoe reservoir is the main source of drinking water supply for Krivoy Rog. It was founded in the 1930s in connection with the construction of the Krivorozhstal metallurgical plant. The dam regulates the water level in the Karachunovsky reservoir and ensures the drainage of the valley, but has long been in disrepair.

Earlier, retired SBU Major General Viktor Yagun told The Insider that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron warned him during calls to Vladimir Putin. In a conversation, the leaders said that if Russia "continues in the same spirit and the countries have to support Ukraine as well, then there will be parity and missiles will fly to the territory of the Russian Federation." According to Yagun, in this case, Ukraine will be provided with the necessary weapons.
