“Ukraine’s successes at the front are the beginning of a turning point, followed by the end of the war.” Vitali Klitschko on the breakthrough of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko called the liberation of southern Ukraine from Russian occupation a turning point in the war, which will inevitably be followed by its end. He told The Insider about this at the presentation of the award to the people of Ukraine in Berlin.

“I would like the recent successes at the front to be a turning point or the beginning of a turning point, because in every big war, and this is a big war in Europe, there is a beginning, a turning point and the end of a war. It is still hard to talk about the end of the war, but I hope that this turning point will not last long,” Klitschko said. “Such a breakthrough and success at the front is the heroism of our military, the heroism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is the willpower and support of our international partners with the most modern weapons that they supply to us.”

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue the counter-offensive in the south of Ukraine, launched on September 10. The Insider has compiled the most important information about the situation at the front as of the evening of September 15th.

September 10 became one of the most important days of the war. From the very morning, messages began to appear on social networks that Ukraine had returned under its control not only towns and villages, but also large cities – Izyum, Kupyansk and Liman. In just a few days, the Ukrainian military was able to liberate almost the entire Kharkiv region, which Russian troops occupied in the spring. In total, Ukraine returned 6,000 km² of territory under its control.
