Kudrin asked Putin for permission to move from the Accounts Chamber to Yandex — Meduza

The head of the Accounts Chamber, Alexei Kudrin, at a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 15, asked for his permission to transfer from his position to work at Yandex. This is reported by Meduza, citing unnamed sources close to the company's management.

Putin and Kudrin agreed that now the head of the joint venture will join the board of directors of Yandex, the interlocutors emphasized. The president also discussed with Kudrin the Yandex.Cloud project, which the company plans to develop on the international market, and drones.

In June, the publication's sources said that the shareholders of "Yandex" are considering the possibility of inviting Kudrin to the company's management.

In May, it became known that Kudrin left the post of dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St. Petersburg State University (SPbGU). He wrote a statement about withdrawing his candidacy from the new dean elections on May 13, but as a result, the elections did not take place.

This spring, the head of the joint venture said that the Russians would live in a severe economic crisis for about two more years: “Now, the end of the year and next year, that is, almost a year and a half, two years, we will live in a very difficult situation. Therefore, it is very important to evaluate your strengths and resources.” He clarified that this crisis is harder than the previous two – 2009 and 2020, when the global economy was hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
