Pro-Russian officials and the media report on the murder of Oleg Boyko, deputy head of the "administration" of Berdyansk for housing and communal services, and his wife Lyudmila. The information was published by Vladimir Rogov, a Russian-appointed member of the “administration” of the Zaporozhye region, on Telegram. Also, reports of the death are given by pro-Russian media, including RIA Novosti.
Boyko's wife headed the so-called city election commission for holding a "referendum". Rogov posted a picture of Boyko and his wife with black ribbons.
Boyko went over to the side of Russia when the country occupied the Zaporozhye region. In 2020, he was nominated to the deputies of the Berdyansk city council in district No. 4 from the pro-Russian party Opposition Platform – For Life. At the end of March, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine suspended the activities of the Opposition Platform for Life, as well as ten other political parties associated with Russia.
Earlier, pro-Russian media reported that the Prosecutor General of the so-called LPR, Sergei Gorenko, died in an explosion in his own office in the building of the Prosecutor General's Office of Lugansk. Deputy Prosecutor General of the "LPR" Ekaterina Steglenko also died after the explosion. The head of the "LPR" Leonid Pasechnik called the incident a "terrorist attack" and said that law enforcement officers were looking for those involved in the explosion.
Now the murder of pro-Russian officials, including those who went over to the side of the Russian Federation with the outbreak of war and occupation, is reported only from the Russian side, Ukraine has not commented on the information. However, the earlier similar message turned out to be false. So, on August 6, military commander Yuri Kotenok reported that Vitaly Gura, appointed by Russia as the “deputy head” of the Novokakhovka administration for housing and communal services, died while being transported to a Crimean hospital after an assassination attempt was made on him. The death was reported by both Ukrainian sources (“Strana.ua”) and the Kremlin media. But on September 12, Channel One showed a story that Gura was actually alive, and his murder turned out to be staged by the FSB "in the name of salvation."
