The Russian chocolate manufacturer O'zera began to produce products under the O'zera brand, replacing the letter "Z" with "Z" in the name. The NGS portal drew attention to this.
According to employees of stores selling chocolate, products with a new logo appeared on the shelves at the end of August. The date of production of such packages is August 21–22, 2022. At the same time, both packaging options can still be found on sale: the old ones (with the letter “Z”) have not yet disappeared from the shelves.
O'zera is a brand of the KDV Group, which produces chocolate, marshmallows, muffins and sweets under this brand.
On the KDV website, in the brand section, sample packages with both spellings are also shown.
According to NGS, this is the first time that a national-level Russian company has changed its logo in this way, removing the symbol of Russian aggression in Ukraine from it.
The company did not make official comments about the rebranding. KDV, when asked by NGS, said they would "return to the issue tomorrow," but then declined to comment.
The symbols Z and V were applied to military equipment with which the Russian army invaded Ukraine. After that, the Russian Ministry of Defense began to use them as support for the Russian military. After that, the Z symbol was banned in Ukraine , Lithuania and Germany .
