Volodin asked the supervisory authorities to bring the President of Poland to criminal responsibility for the “rehabilitation of fascism”

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin asked the Russian supervisory authorities to study the statement of Polish President Andrzej Duda and "take measures to bring him to criminal responsibility." Earlier, Duda said that Poland should demand reparations for the Second World War not only from Germany , but also from Russia.

“Today Poland exists as a state only thanks to our country. <…> The statement of the President of Poland rehabilitates fascism, insults the memory of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the Polish people,” Volodin wrote.

A few days earlier, the Polish parliament adopted a resolution calling on the German government to take political, historical, legal and financial responsibility for the harm caused to Poland and its citizens as a result of the Second World War.

On September 15, answering the question why the Polish authorities demand reparations from Germany, without seeking them from Russia, Duda said:

“Germany started World War II and attacked Poland… Of course, Russia later joined this war, so I think we should also seek reparations from Russia.”
