Zelensky: in Kupyansk, the Russian military kept students from Sri Lanka in the basement

The Russian military during the occupation of Kupyansk kept seven students from Sri Lanka in one of the basements of the city. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about this in his daily video message.

According to him, all seven study at the Kupyansk Medical College. They had been held captive by the Russian military since March and were rescued after the city was liberated. Now they are receiving medical care.

The history of the liberated cities of the Kharkov region repeats the history of the liberation of the Kiev region. Just like in Bucha, in Kupyansk, Izyum, Balakliya and other cities of the Kharkiv region, after the withdrawal of Russian troops from there, evidence of torture of civilians began to be found. So, after the departure of Russian troops from the village of Zheleznodorozhnoe, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies found the bodies of four local residents there with signs of torture. Residents of Balakleya said that during the occupation they experienced electric shock torture.
