Since the beginning of clashes with Kyrgyzstan, 33 citizens of Tajikistan have died – Tajik Foreign Ministry

During the clashes between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, 33 citizens of Tajikistan were killed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic said. This is the first report by the Tajik side on the death toll.

A press release from the Foreign Ministry says that two Tajik servicemen were killed during the shelling of the Kekh post. In Chorkukha, according to the agency, five members of the same family were killed by “fire from the Kyrgyz military,” including a 6-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy and a woman eight months pregnant.

It is also stated that the Kyrgyz military burned down 24 houses in Isfara and killed an elderly woman with “special cruelty” by breaking into her house. During the shelling of the village of Khistevarz, according to the Foreign Ministry, two women born in 1948 and 1962 were killed.

The Tajik authorities also accused Kyrgyzstan of shooting at an ambulance that killed a paramedic and driver, as well as a family of five. As a result, 18 civilians were killed by UAV strikes from the Kyrgyz side on the building of a school and a mosque in the Ovchi-Kalacha jamoat, writes the Tajik Foreign Ministry.

Earlier it was reported that the number of Kyrgyz citizens who died as a result of shelling on the border with Tajikistan reached 36 people. The number of victims is 129.
