Alla Pugacheva's anti-war post, in which she asked the Ministry of Justice to recognize her as a foreign agent following her husband Maxim Galkin and condemned the war in Ukraine, gained more than 630 thousand likes in less than a day after publication.
As the Agency pointed out, the pro-Kremlin publications did not quote the entire post, retelling it in their news, but only mentioned the phrase about the foreign agency, but not about the war. So did TASS , Komsomolskaya Pravda , NTV , Izvestia , Rossiyskaya Gazeta , REN TV and many others.
The Kremlin does not comment on Pugacheva's post, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to a question from journalists.
In turn, Aleksey Arestovich, an adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, called Pugacheva’s act “a rebellion against the Putin system”:
“The rebellion of Alla Borisovna, a personality of a huge human scale, against the Putin system is:
– undermining the legitimacy of the leading mythology of the Putin regime,
– undermining the main narrative that justifies this war,
– an explosion in the middle of the self-identification of citizens, which form the basis of the legitimization of the Putin regime,
– the beginning of the end of this regime.
On September 16, the Ministry of Justice recognized Maksim Galkin as a "foreign agent", allegedly receiving funding from Ukraine.
“The Department of Justice, sincerity and honesty are not paid for decent people, which I hope I am. I do not sell my opinion and my thoughts and do not buy someone else's. I am not engaged in trade in conscience, ”Galkin said after getting into the register.
