Roman Koemts, who sent a photo of Hitler in chat rooms on May 9, was sentenced to 4 years in a colony-settlement

Roman Koemets, a 31-year-old resident of the city of Pevek, who sent a photo of Adolf Hitler to chat rooms on May 9, received 4 years in a colony-settlement. This decision was made by the Chukotka District Court, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reports .

Koemets was found guilty of two episodes of rehabilitation of Nazism using the Internet, as well as violation of the inviolability of the home and illegal imprisonment of minors.

According to investigators, on May 9, 2021, Koemets sent a portrait of Hitler “with a text justifying war crimes committed by the Nazis during World War II” to chats. By this, according to the prosecutor's office, he insulted the participants in the war and "approved the crimes established by the verdict of the International Military Tribunal."

It is also reported that Pevek illegally entered the dwelling and forcibly held three people, depriving them of their freedom of movement.
