Conscripts from the Leningrad region have been transferred to the Ukrainian border for several months. Many have not completed training – “Rain”

The mothers of Russian conscripts who serve in the Leningrad region told the Dozhd TV channel that their sons are either about to be transferred to “strengthen the border” with Ukraine, or have already been sent to the Belgorod region – to the border areas. And many of them have not even been trained yet.

The transfer was announced by the mothers of five servicemen from the 25th motorized rifle brigade from the city of Luga. According to the TV channel, they were sent to a military unit near the city of Kamenka, where preparations are underway to be sent to the Belgorod region. Most of the conscripts will go to the Valuyki area (right next to the Ukrainian border) on September 21 or 22. There are already conscripts from other units there – they were transferred there in July.

“The information is very vague – they say that we are sent to rigging (rigging work), then they say that we are to strengthen the border,” says the mother of one of the soldiers.

However, they were all called up in July and did not complete the three-month training they are required to complete. Referring to relatives, Dozhd writes that from 200 to 400 conscripts are going to be sent from the 25th motorized rifle brigade.

According to Kholod, back in July, conscripts from the Kantemirovskaya division were transferred to the border. As the BBC Russian Service wrote , conscripts from the 1st Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Taman Division, based in Naro-Fominsk, near Moscow, were also sent to the border. They were called up in the spring, and the fact that they were going to the border, allegedly "to protect the state border", was announced in September. At the same time, the command puts pressure on conscripts – it requires them to sign contracts.

The scandal involving conscripts in the war arose in Russia at the very beginning of the war. At first, the authorities denied this information. So, President Vladimir Putin assured that only officers and contractors are fighting, and "there are no conscripts." However, almost immediately after that, the Ministry of Defense announced that the conscripts in Ukraine were still “discovered”.
