The European Commission is working on a new package of sanctions against Russia. This was announced by the journalist of Radio Liberty Rikard Jozwiak.
According to him, the package may be presented as early as next week. The new restrictions are likely to relate to the introduction by the G7 countries of a price ceiling for Russian oil and sanctions lists.
The G7 countries agreed to impose a price ceiling on Russian oil in early September. According to the published statement, if the price of oil is above a given threshold, the European Commission will ban its transportation by sea.
"The cap is designed specifically to reduce Russia's income, its ability to finance its war of aggression and limit the impact of the war on global energy prices, especially in low- and middle-income countries," the British government said in a statement on its website.
