The Russian plant of the largest Japanese automobile company has been operating for 15 years. However, according to Kommersant's interlocutors, after the war in Ukraine, he was idle due to logistical problems. The reason for the closure of the plant is the inability to restore regular supplies.
Kommersant's sources told Kommersant that Toyota will offer its Russian employees higher payouts upon closing. Some of the interlocutors of the publication claim that we are talking about at least 12 salaries. Similar payments will be offered to employees of the Moscow office of Toyota.
The plant in Shushary will be mothballed. One of Kommersant's sources said that Toyota would discuss the sale of assets with the authorities of St. Petersburg. At the same time, there is no talk of continuing the production of cars.
