Anti-war protests are taking place all over Russia. Participants are detained

Almost 100 people were detained at protests against mobilization and war throughout Russia. It is known about detentions in Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, Chita, Ulan-Ude. According to OVD Info, most of the detainees were in Novosibirsk: 59 people.

In Novosibirsk, the protesters stood in a round dance and sang "Let there always be sunshine." The security forces cordoned off the round dance, and then severely detained some of the participants.

In Irkutsk – at least 17 detainees, in Tomsk – 10.

In St. Petersburg, the security forces staged a cleansing before the protests. Early in the morning of September 24, they came with searches to 11 activists at once. All of them were taken for interrogation, many were detained for 48 hours. The formal reason for the detention is the case of "telephone terrorism".

In total, according to OVD Info, since September 21, 1,442 people have been detained at protests in Russia. Protesters are detained with particular cruelty. At a protest in St. Petersburg on September 23, the activist's arm was broken in two places and his phone was smashed. He was taken away from the department in an ambulance. In the hospital, the man was stitched on his head and diagnosed with a fracture, after which he was returned to the department.
