Former President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj called on the Buryats not to fight in Ukraine and to flee from mobilization to his country. He stated this in a video message.
“I know from the very beginning of this bloody war, the ethnic minorities that live in Russia have suffered the most. And the Buryats, Tuvans and Kalmyks suffered the most. They were used as cannon fodder. Hundreds have gone missing. Thousands were killed. We, the Mongolians, will welcome you with open arms and an open heart,” said the ex-head of Mongolia.
“Do not shoot at Ukrainians, at your sisters and brothers, children and old people,” Elbegdorzh asked.
He also addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin: “You cannot kill Ukraine. You cannot kill freedom. Ukraine has every right to exist.”
The Mongolian politician added that the best part of the world is now on the side of Ukraine, called the Ukrainians brave, and the country's President Vladimir Zelensky is a real leader. “You inspire the whole world, if you win, we all win,” he said.
