The military commissar of Moscow threatened lawyers with a criminal article for helping to evade mobilization

Moscow's military commissar Viktor Shchepilov threatened criminal liability for lawyers who help evade mobilization. He wrote about this in an appeal to the President of the Moscow Chamber of Advocates, Igor Polyakov. The document was published by the Moscow agency.

“In particular, indirectly or directly, it is proposed to issue fictitious documents that are the basis for exemption from conscription for military service for mobilization, assistance in evading conscription for military service, advice on evasion, mediation in evasion issues,” the commissioner’s letter says.

According to Shepilov, the lawyers' proposals contain information that falls under the article on "discrediting" the Russian army.

He turned to Polyakov with a request to declare “the inadmissibility of assisting citizens in draft evasion” and to conduct explanatory work with lawyers.
