Sergei Lavrov at the UN General Assembly called the Luhansk region “Laos”, and Zaporozhye – “Zaporozhnaya”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a speech at the UN General Assembly, called the "Luhansk People's Republic" Laos, and the Zaporozhye region – "Zaporozhnaya". Lavrov was sight-reading and quickly corrected himself.

“Now the West has thrown a tantrum because of the referendums taking place in Laos in Lugansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporozhye and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine. But the people living there are essentially only reacting to what Zelensky, the head of the Kyiv regime, recommended to them in one of his interviews last August. Then he advised everyone who feels Russian to leave for Russia for the benefit of their children and grandchildren. The inhabitants of the mentioned regions are doing this now, taking with them their lands, on which their ancestors lived for centuries.”

Recall that on September 25, in the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine, Russia is holding "referendums" on the annexation of the occupied regions to the Russian Federation.
