Activist Alexandra Popova, who was detained by the security forces, said that the security forces beat her, threatened her with gang rape, pulled out her hair and tried to glue her mouth with superglue. While she was being bullied, she heard how her friend Artem Kamardin was being raped with a dumbbell, writes Novaya Gazeta.Europe.
“I have a lot of superglue on me, because the security forces stuck stickers on my face with superglue, tried to glue my mouth, pulled out my hair, kicked me, threatened to rape me with five of us,” Popova told the publication.
The security forces recorded the rape of Kamardin on video and later, during the “interrogation” at the Investigative Committee, they forced her to watch Artyom being tortured, the activist said.
She also said that after the search, $600 was missing from her apartment.
Another detained activist, Alexander Menyukov, is still in the UK.
On September 26, security forces broke into the apartment of activists Artyom Kamardin, Aleksandra Popova and Aleksandr Menyukov, who were taking part in a poetic action against mobilization. Kamardin was severely beaten and raped with a dumbbell. After that, they forced the activists to apologize on camera. The lawyer was not allowed into the apartment. All three were detained and taken to the UK.
Current Time writes that, presumably, the activists were tortured by members of the Grom special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Previously, the unit was part of the disbanded Federal Drug Control Service.
