Beaten and raped activist Kamardin became a suspect under the article on “inciting hatred or enmity”

Beaten and raped activist Artem Kamardin became a suspect under the article on “inciting hatred or enmity with the threat of violence,” said his lawyer Leonid Solovyov.

At night, Kamardin was hospitalized: the activist was brought to the hospital in an ambulance. Later, the lawyer said that the doctors refused to hospitalize the activist, he was taken from the hospital to the temporary detention center in the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug.

On September 26, security forces broke into the apartment of activists Artyom Kamardin, Aleksandra Popova and Aleksandr Menyukov, opening the door with a grinder. Lawyers were not allowed into the apartment. Later, a video was published on the Telegram channel “112” with the “apologies” of the detainees for the words they uttered at the anti-mobilization Mayakovsky Readings.

Girl Kamardin Alexander Popova said that preceded the recording of the video. According to her, the policemen severely beat Kamardin and raped him with a dumbbell. Law enforcement officers filmed all this and forced her to watch this video. She, too, was subjected to bullying:

“I have a lot of superglue on me, because the security forces stuck stickers on my face with superglue, tried to seal my mouth, pulled out my hair, kicked me, threatened to rape me with five of us,” Popova told reporters.

She also said that $600 was missing from her apartment after the search.

According to Nastoyashchee Vremya, allegedly, the activists were tortured by members of the Grom special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Previously, the unit was part of the disbanded Federal Drug Control Service.
