Kazakhstan will not extradite those wanted to Russia for evading the mobilization of citizens, this would be possible only if they were put on the international wanted list. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Akhmetzhanov.
“We have contractual relations with Russia on the provision of legal assistance, on the exchange of convicts and on the extradition of criminals. The most important principle here – both in our country and in Russia – is a criminally punishable act. In addition, if … he is put on the wanted list, we will identify and extradite these persons in the order of extradition to Russia, ”said Akhmetzhanov.
“If they look for military registration and enlistment offices, this is not a legal basis for their extradition,” Akhmetzhanov said.
Since September 21, about 100,000 Russians have crossed the border with Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Kazakhstan stated that it does not recognize "referendums" in eastern Ukraine.
