Politico: The European Union plans to impose sanctions against the “ideologist of the Russian world” Dugin and singer Rastorguev

The European Union, within the framework of the new (already eighth) package of sanctions, wants to impose personal sanctions against the "ideologist of the Russian world" Alexander Dugin, singer Nikolai Rastorguev – the leader of the Lube group, which Russian President Vladimir Putin loves so much, as well as the president of the Kalashnikov concern Alan Lushnikov . This is reported by Politico, referring to the document of the European Commission.

In addition, this list, according to the newspaper, will include the organizers of "referendums" for joining the Russian occupied territories of Ukraine. The UK has already imposed sanctions against them.

According to the newspaper, in addition to the fact that the EU is going to impose a price ceiling on Russian oil, the sanctions will affect the trade in steel and chemicals, which could be "crucial to the Russian military." The restrictions will also affect the export of semiconductor components, microcircuits, and aircraft.

In addition, EU imports of Russian cosmetics and household items, such as makeup, shaving products, deodorants, soaps, dental floss and even toilet paper, will be subject to sanctions. According to the FCS, the volume of exports of toilet paper in 2020 amounted to $52 million.

Another area that will be affected by the eighth package of sanctions will be IT. Thus, European companies will no longer be able to advise Russian companies, individuals and the Russian government in this area. This will also affect the market of legal advice, architectural and engineering services.

On September 28, the European Commission presented the eighth package of sanctions to the ambassadors of the EU countries. It is a response to Russia's holding of so-called referendums in the "LPR", "DPR", Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, which are now under the control of the Russian military. The main limitation concerns Russian oil – the sanctions provide for the installation of a price ceiling.
