Radio Liberty journalist and director Yulia Vishnevetskaya disappeared in Dagestan. She has not been in contact since she was detained at anti-mobilization protests in Makhachkala. This The Insider was confirmed by her loved ones.

UPD: Yulia Vishnevetskaya was found, she is in the temporary detention facility of the Karabudakhkent District Department of Internal Affairs. This was reported by the publication "Chernovik". At the same time, the security forces claimed that she was not there, because they did not want to let a lawyer see her.

Yulia was in Dagestan on an editorial assignment – she filmed a report about a rural school and a cable car in the mountain village of Sogratl for the Reporter and Radio Liberty publications.

Her husband, journalist Shura Burtin, said that before her arrest on September 26, she was returning to Makhachkala, drew attention to the protests in the city center and wanted to make a report. The rally was already ending, Vishnevetskaya went into a cafe, after which she was detained . She spent the night in the OVD together with those detained during the riots. The next day, she was taken to the Sovetsky Court of Makhachkala and given five days of administrative arrest under the "rally" article 20.2, paragraph 6.

“For some reason, to carry out her sentence, she was taken to the Karabudakhkent police department, a village an hour's drive from Makhachkala. However, on the afternoon of the 28th, the police officer on duty announced that Yulia was not there. According to PMC member Omar Omarov, she has been redirected to Makhachkala and will be charged with organizing rallies. However, in the detention center of Makhachkala, lawyer Marina Dubrovina was told that Yulia was not there either. Yulia Vishnevetskaya has been practically without sleep for two days, without communication, without the help of lawyers, she does not have the most necessary things with her, ”says the journalist.

Relatives of Yulia Vishnevetskaya fear that non-legal methods of pressure may be applied to her.

Protests against the mobilization announced by President Vladimir Putin began in Dagestan on 25 September. They were held in several cities and villages of the republic. The police and the National Guard severely dispersed the rallies. Among the protesters there were a large number of women who shouted "No to war!" and “Our children are not fertilizer!”. In Makhachkala, there were clashes with the security forces.
