The Tverskoy Court of Moscow sent Nikolai Daineko, a participant in the Mayakovsky Readings, to a pre-trial detention center for 1 month and 29 days. This is reported by "OVD Info" with reference to his lawyer Leysan Mannapova.
Daineko is a suspect in a criminal case on “incitement of hatred with the threat of violence” (clause “a”, part 2, article 282 of the Criminal Code). The article assumes up to 6 years in prison.
The reason for initiating the case was the couplet: "Glory to Kievan Rus, Novorossiya – suck," which another suspect in the case, Artem Kamardin, said at the Mayakovsky Readings on September 25.
Daineko was detained at the Readings themselves and released with a "rally" article. The next day, the court fined him 20 thousand rubles, and after the trial he was again detained and taken to the UK.
After the Readings, the security forces broke into the apartment of Kamardin and his girlfriend, activist Alexandra Popova. Kamardin was beaten and raped with a dumbbell. Alexandra was beaten by five of them, her hair was pulled out, they tried to glue her mouth with superglue, later in the UK she was shown a video of Artyom being raped. In addition to Kamardin and Popova, five more participants in the readings were detained. Three poets, including Kamardin, were forced to apologize on video. After the torture, Kamardin was also made a suspect under the article “Inciting hatred or hostility with the use of violence or the threat of its use.” Read more about this in The Insider.
