Ukrainian police have identified five Russian servicemen who, on February 25 near Gostomel, shot cars passing along the highway for six hours. They killed 11 and wounded 15 people.
According to the police, the goal of the Russian special forces was to seize the Government Quarter and government buildings in Kyiv. They suffered losses, after which they took up combat positions in Gostomel on Shevchenko Street opposite the Cheshsky Dvor residential complex and along Svyato-Pokrovskaya Street near the Fora store.
There they shot 12 civilian vehicles. 11 civilians were killed, including one child, and another 15 people were wounded. The fire was from machine guns, machine guns and even from BTEERs. At least 38 bullets were fired at the car. Most of all – 178 – hit the VAZ-2106.
Among the identified persons are two shooters and three commanders who gave the order to shoot civilians. They were declared suspected of violating the laws and customs of war.
The investigation and operational support was carried out by employees of the GDNP in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office of the Pechersk District.
