White House: Russians fleeing mobilization may apply to the US for asylum

Russians fleeing the mobilization may apply for asylum in the United States, said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

“We believe that regardless of their nationality, they can apply for asylum in the United States, and each application will be considered on an individual basis,” said Jean-Pierre.

According to her, the US authorities welcome "anyone who seeks asylum." However, she did not mention any priority order specifically for the Russians.

On September 23, the German authorities stated that the evasion of mobilization is a compelling reason for the positive consideration of the application for political asylum in their country.
