Bus communication between Samara and Togliatti with the Kazakh city of Uralsk has been temporarily suspended. An announcement about this appeared on the websites of the bus stations of Uralsk and Samara . The reason is called "the current situation on the border of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation", the measures were taken, as stated, "for the safety of passengers." To date, this is the most popular route for Russians who are fleeing the country due to mobilization.
“Due to the current situation on the border of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, from September 29, 2022, for the safety of passengers, the transportation of passengers and luggage on public transport from the side of the Republic of Kazakhstan and from the Russian Federation along the routes: Uralsk – Samara; Uralsk – Togliatti," the Uralsk bus station said in a statement.
The Kazakh edition "My City" writes that Russian colleagues turned to the management of the bus station in Uralsk.
“As we were told, unknown people overturned one of their buses, the drivers are threatened, therefore, for the safety of the passengers themselves, the traffic is suspended. We, in turn, are also suspending traffic, but so far only for one day – September 29 – and only to Samara and Tolyatti. Buses to Saratov and Orenburg run as before, ”Talgat Bisekenov, head of the Uralsk bus station, quotes the publication.
The situation on the Russian-Kazakh border is deteriorating. Traffic jams at individual checkpoints stretched for more than 12 km. At the same time, scheduled buses stand in separate queues, but traffic is also difficult for them. The path from Samara to Uralsk is now being chosen by many Russians who are fleeing the mobilization announced by President Vladimir Putin.
