HIV-positive Russians are mobilized into the army, despite the diagnosis. This is reported by human rights activist Pavel Chikov. According to him, it is already known about sending one person with a diagnosis to a collection point.
“Young people with HIV come to us. They receive summons from the military registration and enlistment office along with other categories of those subject to conscription for mobilization, if they were not previously recognized by the medical board as unfit and were not assigned category D. <…> One HIV-positive was sent to a collection point, despite the presence of medical documents confirming the diagnosis” Chikov said.
At the same time, the website Explains.RF explicitly states that HIV-infected people are not subject to mobilization. The site is an official Internet resource for informing about the socio-economic situation in Russia.
On September 26, a student with a whole range of diseases was mobilized in the Chelyabinsk region: pancreatitis, rhinitis, prostatitis, varicose veins and hemorrhoids. The Dozhd TV channel reported on a case in which a young man with strabismus and recent vision correction surgery turned out to be a senior shooter. Moreover, subpoenas come even dead.
