Poland has imposed sanctions against Gazprom Export LLC (a subsidiary of PJSC Gazprom) headquartered in St. Petersburg, including the “freezing” of assets. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The company is also prohibited from providing any financial or economic resources.
Earlier, the German publication Der Tagesspiegel, citing sources, reported that the Russian Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines could have been attacked, including with the help of submarines or specially trained divers. Representatives of gas pipeline operating companies have not yet provided details of the incident, noting that they continue to clarify the circumstances. However, Nord Stream AG spoke of the "unprecedented nature of the damage" and acknowledged that recovery would take a long time.
Since June, Russian authorities and the state-owned Gazprom have been appealing to sanctions to justify cutting off gas supplies via Nord Stream. Moscow insisted on the return of the gas turbine for the project, and when the German company Siemens expressed its readiness to return the turbine, Russia had a new requirement – to remove the turbines from restrictions so that the supply of the unit would not violate the European sanctions regime.
