Swedish Coast Guard finds another leak at Nord Stream

Another leak was discovered at a section of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the economic zone of Sweden. According to the local newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, this was noticed by the Coast Guard.

“This leak was not known from the very beginning. It was not visible on radar because it is smaller. The Coast Guard discovered her when they were exploring the area by boat and plane , ” local authorities said.

Meanwhile, Sky News writes , citing a British intelligence source, that a remote explosive device could have been used to attack Nord Stream.

According to intelligence, the mines could be lowered on a long rope to the bottom of the sea or placed next to the pipeline using an underwater drone. Moreover, this could have happened several months or even years ago, according to intelligence.

Leaks on two lines of Nord Stream 1 and one line of Nord Stream 2 became known on September 26. The Swedish Foreign Ministry said earlier that explosions were the cause of the leaks. The same version was voiced by Bjorn Lund, an employee of the Swedish national seismic network SNSN.

On September 29, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on an act of international terrorism due to damage to the gas pipeline.
