The wife and adviser of the Mufti of Dagestan, Aina Gamzatova, asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to suspend mobilization in the region: the mobilization plan in it (as well as in Chechnya), according to her, has already been completed. After the announcement of the mobilization in Dagestan, mass protests took place.
According to Gamzatova, enough residents of Dagestan have already left for the war in Ukraine, and if Putin gives the region a respite, then within six months the republic will be able to train professional fighters. Now, as part of the mobilization, “absolutely unprepared youth” are being called up.
“For our part, we are ready to offer, taking into account the difficult times for our country, to fully provide the necessary: provisions, clothing, premises… kind of weapon in general. Based on the announced figures – 300 thousand – and on the number of subjects of the Russian Federation, Dagestan, like Chechnya, fulfilled the mobilization plan, ”Gamzatova addresses Putin.
According to her, out of the population of the republic of 3 million people, more than 3 thousand residents of Dagestan are already at the front.
Dagestan is one of the regions most affected by Putin's war. The number of dead volunteers there is higher than in other regions. Protests against the mobilization began on September 25, took place in several cities and villages of the republic. The police and the National Guard severely dispersed the rallies. Among the protesters there were a large number of women who shouted "No to war!" and “Our children are not fertilizer!”. Women were beaten and dragged into paddy wagons. In Makhachkala, there were clashes with the security forces; on September 25, about 100 people were detained there.
After the actions, investigators opened about 30 criminal cases against local residents. Several people have already been sent to jail. All the defendants have bodily injuries: hematomas, concussions with craniocerebral injuries, suspected fractures.
On September 23, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that the "partial" mobilization would not affect his region. According to him, the republic has already exceeded the conscription plan by 254%. However, a source told The Insider that some Chechens received subpoenas as part of the mobilization. According to the source of Novaya Gazeta. Europe”, the Chechen authorities mobilized 564 Chechens from different regions of Russia.
