Ukraine will receive €550 million from the European Investment Bank

Ukraine will soon receive the second tranche of assistance from the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the amount of €550 million. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on Twitter following a meeting with EIB Vice President Teresa Chervinskaya.

He thanked Chervinskaya for her cooperation and support.

"We discussed joint projects, development, the participation of the EIB in economic recovery and infrastructure reconstruction."

The day before, Shmygal, during a meeting with the heads of the UVA, said that Ukraine had lost almost $350 billion due to the war. According to him, this amount is 1.6 times more than Ukraine's GDP over the past year.

On September 28, Bloomberg reported that the United States would provide Ukraine with a new $1 billion military aid package for weapons that the country could purchase from American defense contractors. According to Reuters, this aid package will include HIMARS MLRS, means to combat drones, radar systems and spare parts. The total volume of US military assistance to Ukraine will reach $16 billion from January 2021.
