The APU managed to close Liman into the boiler. The capture will open the way for Ukrainians to the “LPR” – ISW

By midnight, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to actually close Liman into a cauldron, where, after the retreat from Kharkov, BARS detachments, the forces of the 20th Combined Arms Army of the RF Armed Forces and some units of the “People’s Militia of the LPR and DPR”, as well as Cossack units remained. Headquarters are occupied from the north, battles are going on in Zarechny, the Liman-Torskoye highway is under constant enemy fire. Yampol is being assaulted from the south.

This is evidenced by the messages of Russian military bloggers and military correspondents. The boiler is also confirmed by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). “Ukrainian troops are attacking Liman from three directions and have cut off Russia’s access to the critical Svatovo-Liman road, which is the main land line supporting the Russian group in Liman itself,” the report reads.

The battle for Liman is important, as its environment opens the way to the "LPR". The capture of Liman will open the doors to Svatovo for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and then to Kremennaya and Rubizhnoye. It is not yet clear which line the new front will take. The Ukrainians bypassed Liman for several weeks from two sides, now the last road remains, which connected the Russian grouping in Liman through Torskoye with Svatovo, where their warehouse is located and from where they can send people and ammunition in support. Now this Torskoye is occupied, as well as Drobyshevo on the other side, the road is cut.

If decisive measures are not taken within a day by the command of the RF Armed Forces, then Liman will face the fate of Balakleya. Provided that the Russian troops in the city are destroyed, the entire defensive potential of the RF Armed Forces in this sector of the front will be reduced to nothing.
