The Ukrainian authorities reported that on the night of September 30, Russia shelled several cities – Nikolaev, Dnipro and Zaporozhye.
The head of the Zaporozhye regional administration Oleksandr Starukh said that the Russian military launched a missile attack on a humanitarian convoy on the outskirts of Zaporozhye. It is known about 23 dead and 28 wounded civilians. At the time of the strike, people were queuing to leave the temporarily occupied territory to pick up their relatives and bring help, Starukh wrote.
The mayor of the city Alexander Senkevich reported about the shelling of Nikolaev. At night, he wrote that at about 01:00 a.m. Russia fired at a residential area, the rocket hit the top floor of one of the houses. Under the rubble were people, there was a fire. The mayor published a photo of the destroyed house.
Also, the Dnieper was shelled at night, the head of the regional military administration (OVA) of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Valentin Reznichenko, said on Telegram. According to him, one person died and five were injured. Reznichenko claims that the strike was carried out on the city by Russian Iskander missiles. A fire started, as a result, multi-storey buildings, a gymnasium and a store were damaged, 52 buses burned down at a transport enterprise, and another 98 were damaged.
Earlier, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that Mykolaiv is the third city in terms of the number of missile strikes inflicted on it. The first two are Izyum and Mariupol. Mykolaiv has been regularly attacked since the beginning of the war. On September 29, the city was shelled with cluster munitions, three people were killed, twelve were injured, the mayor of the city Alexander Senkevich reported. On the evening of August 13, the city was shelled again, in one of the districts a rocket exploded near a residential building. The representative of Denmark stated that the country would allocate €13.5 million for a project in the field of heat supply in Nikolaev.
Against the background of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south of Ukraine, the Russian troops repeatedly attacked the country's communal infrastructure. Earlier, as a result of shelling, the backup line that supplied the settlements of the Kharkiv region failed, because of this, the region was left without electricity. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the infrastructure of the settlements of Veselaya Dolina, Dry Pond, Zaitsevo, New York, Kostromka, Pervomayskoye, Belogorovka, Kam, Stepnoye, Maly Shcherbaki, Belaya Krinitsa, Yuryevka and Mirnoye was damaged from air strikes and shelling of MLRS.
