The Ukrainian military surrounded a group of Russian military near Liman. This was announced by the speaker of the group of troops "Vostok" Sergei Cherevaty.
According to him, about 5-5.5 thousand Russian military men got into the cordon. At the same time, Cherevaty stressed that a more thorough analysis is required to establish the exact number. He also said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine also liberated the settlements of Yampol, Novoselovka, Shandrigolovo, Drobyshevo and Stavki.
On the morning of October 1, a video began to circulate in Ukrainian Telegram channels, in which soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine set the Ukrainian flag on a stele at the entrance to Liman. This is the northern entrance to the city from the side of earlier Drobyshevo.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to close Liman into a boiler on the night of September 30. After the retreat from Kharkov, BARS detachments, the forces of the 20th Combined Arms Army of the RF Armed Forces, some units of the "People's Militia of the LPR and DPR" and Cossack units remained there. If the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberate Liman, they will open the road to the “LPR”, namely to Svatovo, and then to Kremennaya and Rubizhnoye.
