Mongolia will issue a residence permit to all interested Russians

Mongolia has decided to issue a residence permit to all interested citizens of Russia. This was stated by the head of the department of the Mongolian immigration agency Nerguin Uuganbayar.

According to the law, they can stay in Mongolia without a visa for up to 30 days. As of September 21-29, 748 Russian citizens have extended their stay and visas in Mongolia. More than 1,000 Russians were consulted on obtaining a residence permit and extending their stay in the country. In one day, about 160 Russian citizens extended their visas for 30 days.

Earlier, the former President of Mongolia, Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, called on the Buryats not to fight in Ukraine and to flee from mobilization to his country. “I know from the very beginning of this bloody war, the ethnic minorities that live in Russia have suffered the most. <…> We, the Mongolians, will meet you with open arms and an open heart,” he said.
