Police ask the UK to open a criminal case on “fakes” against Sobchak – TASS

The police asked to open a “fake” case against Ksenia Sobchak because of her interview with director Vitaly Mansky, TASS writes , citing a law enforcement source.

According to the source, we are talking about fakes “about state funding of festivals.”

In early September, the Interior Ministry put Mansky on the federal wanted list. Earlier, Nikita Mikhalkov wrote a statement against him, who demanded that a criminal case be initiated against the director under the article “Slander”. The reason was Mansky's statement about corruption at the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) Mikhalkov. According to Mansky, no less than 85% of the budget is stolen from the MIFF.

“During the interrogation, Ksenia Sobchak, answering the questions of the body of inquiry about who posted and created the false information, said that she was ready to answer for everything herself, since this material does not have any administrators of the resource where the fake came out, editors or directors. In this regard, the investigators saw in the actions of the journalist a crime under Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the exercise by state bodies of the Russian Federation of their powers”),” writes TASS.

Punishment under this article involves a fine of 700 thousand to 1.5 million rubles or imprisonment for up to three years.
