Ministry of Internal Affairs: owners of Telegram channels arrested in the case of extortion from top managers of state corporations

Employees of the “K” department (a division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that detects crimes in the field of information technology) detained the administrators of Telegram channels in a case of extortion on an especially large scale.

According to Mash, one of the detainees, Anatoly Spirin, is the owner of the Ulyanovsk Telegram channel Somehow Like This and the alleged creator of the Politburo 3.0 public page. As Mash notes, he criticized the ex-governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov. Kommersant clarifies that Spirin was detained on September 28, and his criminal case is being investigated along with the criminal case against Stanislav Sadovoy, the owner of the Telegram channel Kremlin Mamkoved.

The arrest warrant for Stanislav Sadovyi states that he is accused of extortion “under the threat of spreading false, defamatory and disgraceful information.”

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, fakes about businessmen, top managers of state corporations and high-ranking officials were published in public pages with an audience of almost a million people. For the removal of this information, the administrators, according to the police, “offered the victims to transfer large sums of money using crypto wallets.”

Officially, the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not report which channels are in question. It is known that two people were detained – a 50-year-old resident of Moscow, "who involved his son in the criminal business," and a native of Ulyanovsk. Both were poisoned in jail.

In August, the court arrested three administrators of the Scanner Telegram channel. All three are suspected of fraud on a large scale.
