The security forces came to search the house of the mother of the former coordinator of the headquarters of Alexei Navalny in Kostroma and Saratov, Alexander Zykov. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
According to him, there are a dozen security officials near the house, and the sudden search is connected with the announcement of Navalny's team about restarting the network of headquarters in Russia.
With what criminal case the search is connected, while it is not known.
Zykov is not currently in Russia. Earlier, a criminal case was initiated against him for "fake" about the Russian army – he wrote a post about the dead soldiers of the Kostroma regiment. His page on VKontakte was blocked. His mother has already been interrogated in this case. As Zykov himself wrote, the interrogation concerned only the question of his whereabouts.
They also tried to give his mother a summons to interrogate Zykov's grandmother, who died 10 years ago, and were threatened with dismissal.
On October 4, Alexei Navalny's team announced the restart of the network of headquarters. This was done, as stated, to "fight Putin, war and mobilization." The Russians were offered to fill out an application and become volunteers. At the same time, like-minded people were urged to “remember security” and not to publicly report joining the headquarters if they remain in Russia.
On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), the headquarters of Alexei Navalny and the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights as "extremist organizations." Their activities are officially banned, and their members and even just supporters, according to the new law, will not be able to be elected to legislative bodies at all levels for several years.
