Singer Alla Pugacheva on Instagram turned to her critics. “What a blessing that those people whom I always could not stand hate me. Were serfs, became slaves,” she wrote.
In September, Pugacheva published a post in which she asked the Ministry of Justice to recognize her as a foreign agent following her husband Maxim Galkin and condemned the war in Ukraine. Her act was supported in the Office of Volodymyr Zelensky.
However, even before this post, Pugacheva faced pressure – probably because of the anti-war position of Maxim Galkin. Back in May (and then in early September), insulting messages addressed to the singer appeared on the building of the Ostankino television center:
Maxim Galkin has repeatedly criticized the Russian authorities for the unleashed war in Ukraine. After the artist's anti-war statements, all advertising contracts were terminated with him and concerts in Russian cities were canceled. Later, the Ministry of Justice added the artist to the list of foreign agents. Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that "Russia and Galkin are not on the same path" because he "made very bad statements."
