A resident of the Tymovsky urban district of Sakhalin was mobilized for the war in Ukraine despite the fact that he is blind in one eye and has a strabismus. It is reported by Sakh.com.

The young man, born in 2000, was handed the summons on September 22, and on the 23rd he was already at the military registration and enlistment office, the newspaper writes. The medical commission recognized the Sakhalin citizen as fit for service, although he has a severe degree of amblyopia. This means that he actually sees with only one eye and cannot perceive three-dimensional images. He also has a squint. A person with a similar disease has difficulty orienting in space even in ordinary life, not to mention the combat zone.

The young man's wife wrote a complaint to the governor, at the regional military registration and enlistment office she was told that people "with such a sore are taken and will be taken." Now the mobilized is in the military unit in Aniva. He was promised a second medical examination. There is no ophthalmologist in the unit.

This is not the first such case. Krasnodar IT specialist Vasily Malinochka was mobilized as a shooter despite his strabismus. At the same time, he formally falls under the reservation of the Ministry of Digital Development, he is a fault tolerance engineer for MegaFon's IT infrastructure platforms. In Primorye, a young man with strabismus was also mobilized for war – he was made a senior shooter.
