More than 60,000 Russian servicemen have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the war – General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Russia has lost 61,330 personnel, 330 of them in the last 24 hours. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The General Staff also claims that since the beginning of the invasion, 2,449 Russian tanks, 5,064 armored combat vehicles, 1,424 artillery systems, 344 MLRS, 177 air defense systems, 266 aircraft and 232 helicopters have been destroyed. In addition, since February 24, Russia has lost 1047 UAVs, 246 cruise missiles, 15 ships and boats.

According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian Federation suffered the greatest losses in the Kramatorsk, Avdeevsky and Krivoy Rog directions.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense has reported three times on the deaths of Russian servicemen. For the last time, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, on the day the “partial” mobilization was announced in the country, September 21, said that 5,937 Russian soldiers had died since the beginning of the “special operation”.

In early June, the BBC Russian Service, citing a high-ranking representative of Western intelligence agencies, claimed that the number of Russian military dead during the war in Ukraine could reach 20,000. On August 19, journalists from the BBC Russian Service and Mediazona confirmed the names of 5,701 Russian servicemen who died in the war in Ukraine. Most of the losses were among the military from Dagestan (270 people), Buryatia (245 people) and the Krasnodar Territory (206 people).
