Billionaire Elon Musk has published a map of the 2012 parliamentary elections in Ukraine, where southeastern Ukraine voted for the Party of Regions. He did so in a dispute with Senator Lindsey Graham, who wrote to him that "offering to end the Russian invasion by simply handing over parts of Ukraine to Russia after all the suffering is stupid."
“Obviously, not everyone who voted for the pro-Russian party wanted to join Russia, but to say that no one wanted this is also wrong,” Musk said.
To this, Musk was thrown off the map of the 2019 parliamentary elections, where all of Ukraine, with the exception of Donbass, voted mainly for the Servant of the People.
“Pay attention to how Kherson and Zaporozhye voted for Zelensky’s party,” Musk wrote.
“Kherson and Zaporozhye almost certainly do not want to join Russia – the annexation of these areas was done to provide a land bridge and water supply to Crimea,” Musk replied.
Earlier, Elon Musk published his version of the possible end of the war in Ukraine: in his opinion, it is necessary to hold a second vote in the Russian-annexed regions of Ukraine under the supervision of the UN. Based on its results, it will be decided whether Russia will leave, Musk emphasized. The businessman also expressed the opinion that Crimea would become part of Russia, as it had been "since 1783, before Khrushchev's mistake." About 40 thousand comments gathered under the thread in an hour. Of the 786,657 who voted, 39.2% agreed with Musk's opinion, but the majority, 60.8%, did not support this scenario.
At the end of September, Russia held "referendums" in the occupied territories of Ukraine: in the so-called DPR and LPR, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, which were partially captured this year. According to state agencies, in the "DNR" 99.23% of those who voted for joining the Russian Federation (in total, "2 million 131 thousand 207 people" came to the polling stations), in the "LPR" – 98.42% (taking into account the polling stations in the Russian Federation voted "1 million 662 thousand 607 voters"). In Zaporozhye, 93.11% of voters allegedly voted for joining, 541,093 people voted in total, and in the Kherson region – 87.05% (propagandists claim that a total of 571,001 people voted).
