Nadezhda Filinova, a journalist for the Udmurt media outlet Udm-Info, was fired for commenting on the Dozhd TV channel about a shooting at school No. 88 in Izhevsk, where a man shot 17 people. After that, Aleksey Chulkov, editor-in-chief of the news portal, called her and said that she was fired. This is written by the publication "7 × 7", where Filinova works as a freelance correspondent.
“He explained that the editor can represent the editorial office in other media in agreement with the authorities, and the journalist – in agreement with the editor. He refused to communicate with Dozhd, asking his superiors, he was forbidden to do so, ‘because it’s Dozhd and it’s like officially coming to bulk or giving an interview to Radio Liberty in the current situation,’ ”the journalist quotes the editor.
Filinova noted that she could not get permission because the editor was on vacation. She worked for the publication for four years and plans to go to court.
Chulkov himself also told her that if he had given a comment to Dozhd, he would also have been fired, because among the clients of the media holding are United Russia and state-owned companies.
The founder of Udm-Info is PremierMediaInvest LLC (media holding 1MI), whose CEO, according to the Kotnutr.Focus system, is Fedor Shcherbakov. He also heads Lenfilm, before that he worked as the director of the development department at Stroytransgaz, Putin's friend Gennady Timchenko, and also as an adviser to the president of the state corporation Olimpstroy. He began his career as a journalist on Channel One.
