Poet Artem Kamardin, a participant in the Mayakovsky Readings, was charged with inciting hatred with the threat of violence, Network Freedoms reports .
The accusation under paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code was formulated by an investigator of the Tver department of the Main Investigative Committee of the ICR. Kamardin is charged with humiliation of the dignity of a group of people – "militiamen who took part in hostilities in the LPR and DPR", as well as calls for violence against these persons. Under this article, he faces a sentence of up to six years in prison.
A criminal case was opened after Kamardin publicly read a poem with the words “kill me, militia” during the Mayakovsky Readings in Moscow.
During the search, Kamardin was severely beaten and tortured. Since September 26, he has been in custody. The allegation of torture against him has not yet been verified. Kamardin is defended by lawyer Leonid Solovyov.
On October 6, a similar charge was brought against another defendant in the case, Nikolai Daineko.
