After the explosion on the Crimean bridge, Putin instructed the FSB to strengthen the protection of the passage through the Kerch Strait

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on strengthening the protection of the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, the Russia-Crimea power grid bridge and the Krasnodar Territory-Crimea gas pipeline. This was reported on the Kremlin website.

The decree notes that the authority to organize and coordinate measures to protect the transport crossing is vested in the FSB. The document also instructed the government to "bring its acts in line."

Earlier, press secretary Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti that Putin's appeal to the Russians is not planned in the coming days.

The explosion on the automobile part of the Crimean bridge from the side of the Taman Peninsula thundered at 6:00 am on October 8. According to preliminary data, a truck exploded on the bridge, as a result, the tanks of the train, which was walking along the railway part, caught fire. The moment of the explosion was caught on video. The ICR opened a criminal case, however, under which article, it is not specified. The head of the parliament of the annexed peninsula, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that "Ukrainian vandals" damaged the bridge.

Putin instructed to create a government commission in connection with the "state of emergency" and sent the head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev and the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Kurenkov to the site of the explosion. By the evening of October 8, the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced the resumption of traffic on the bridge. RIA Novosti published a video showing cars from Taman driving across the Crimean Bridge, according to a propaganda agency.

RBC, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, reported that the truck driver received an order for the transportation of fertilizers. Mash claimed that 52-year-old Mahir Yusubov, the uncle of the owner of the car: Samira Yusubov, could be driving the truck.
