The head of the annexed Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced the resumption of traffic on the Crimean bridge after the explosion. The message was published in the Telegram channel.
According to Aksyonov, traffic is open to cars and buses, they are undergoing inspection procedures. He asked truck drivers to plan their route using the Kerch ferry crossing. Aksenov promised that in two hours the Kerch-2 ferry would start sailing across the strait ( his message was published at 16:08 ).
On October 8, at 6 am, an explosion thundered on the automobile part of the Crimean bridge from the side of the Taman Peninsula, according to preliminary data, a truck exploded on the bridge. As a result, the tanks of the train, which was walking along the railway part of the bridge, caught fire. The moment of the explosion was caught on video. The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case, under which article, it is not specified. The head of the parliament of the annexed peninsula, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that "Ukrainian vandals" damaged the roadway.
After the explosion on the bridge, Russian Railways suspended the sale of tickets for trains to Crimea from it. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to create a government commission in connection with the "state of emergency" and sent the head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev and the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Kurenkov to the site of the explosion.
