The Belarusian Foreign Ministry summoned the Ambassador of Ukraine Igor Kizim and handed him a diplomatic note. It says that Ukraine is preparing a strike on Belarusian territory.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reacted to the accusations, calling them insinuations of the Belarusian regime. The statement also says that Ukraine has never claimed the lands of other states and adheres to the norms and principles of international law.
“We do not rule out that the delivery of a diplomatic note may be part of the Russian Federation’s plan to carry out a provocation and further accuse Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports . “We call on the Belarusian people not to succumb to provocations. Ukraine has never encroached on foreign territories. We clearly adhere to the fundamental norms and principles of international law and the UN Charter. The authorities in Belarus must stop following the whims of the Kremlin and immediately stop supporting Russia in carrying out its aggression against Ukraine.”
In March 2022, at a meeting between Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, dedicated to the war in Ukraine and the receipt by the Belarusian authorities of a loan from Russia, he said : “And now I’ll show you where the attack on Belarus was being prepared from,” later he really began to point at those brought with him maps. The phrase quickly became a catchphrase and gained immense popularity.
